I hold a sense of pride for what I’ve learned so far about building my electronic portfolio. In three classes I have attained valuable information regarding education and digital learning. The growth mindset, the COVA model (Choice, Ownership, Voice, Authentic Learning), the innovation plan, and building the electronic portfolio have molded a new connection to learning and teaching for me. I’m actually sure that I am not the only one who is proud of the work they’ve completed in just three courses, as classmates have mentioned pride in their creations in the discussion board several times. This is a result of the ownership we all have of assignments. We are benefiting from the COVA approach to learning, which ultimately leads to that very pride we want our own students to experience. It is up to me to extend these benefits to my students and even my peers. This also includes the growth mindset. There is an intricate relationship between the COVA approach to learning and the growth mindset; view my blog post on that connection here. My ePortfolio will not only be a model for my audience, but also is something that I plan to add to and develop beyond the DLL program. As I progress into the next course I appreciate the amount of information acquired relatively in the beginning of the program. I’m excited and looking forward to diving beneath the surface of digital learning, and taking my electronic portfolio to the next level in the courses that remain.
